History of Rock Professors at the Bluebird

I'm sure you all have heard me talk about my History of Rock classes/professors before, but every semester the do a show at the Bluebird, and this year I was finally old enough to go! Andy Hollinden, the one I have right now, performed Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) in its' entirety with his band, and then Glenn Gas came on too and they performed some Foo Fighters, Beatles, Elvis Costello, etc. It was an amazing amazing show!!! It also happened to be my first experience with the Dirty Bird... these drinks you see here. Of course we got the large ones, and ONE of those did the trick.

Went with Betsy and met up with Claire, her new boy, Annissa, and by chance Joe, Sean, and Robert. It was definitely a great time. I wore this new black dress, that happens to be exactly the same as the Navy one I had on in a recent post, with my faithful old cowboy boots (They're baaaack!), and accessories of Kelly's picking. I really have taken a liking to just asking her to throw me together some accessories last minute. :-)

Now you'll have to excuse me, I'm off to continue this marathon of digital scrapbooking for my Creativity and Communication final project.

As Promised, Little Five Picture Post.

Here you go. As promised, my version of the world's greatest college week(end), in pictures. Who says Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, anyways?

This week is a mess!!

This week has been a whirlwind! And it doesn't help that after last weekend, my body seems to think a 4am to 2pm sleep schedule is appropriate. Somehow I've procrastinated on pretty much everything, yet still gotten everything accomplished. And to think, it's not even finals week yet! Next week should be a lot easier in comparison, only two finals and one final project. The final project will take a while, but I'm doing a digital scrapbook of sorts for my trip to India two summers ago, so that's long overdue anyways and I'm excited to work on it!!! Almost summer!

Little Five post will come this weekend, but for now I wanted to do an outfit post of the dress I wore to our Sundresses cookout. Finally gave in and bought a long dress... which I wasn't quite sure about on me, but I think I liked it... especially for such a casual setting. May have to take the straps in a little bit... ended up having to safety pin it to my bra so it wouldn't fall down too much accidentally! It worked best with wedges, because it's just a tad bit too long.

I also did the headband braid... that always seems to go so well with summery dresses, and works like a charm to keep those pesky bangs out of the way!

Not going to lie, walking around in my long flowing floral patterned dress sipping on Gin and Tonics kind of made me feel like Mrs. Roper from Three's Company. Ehhh!?

Back to Normal with an Outfit Post!

Thought I'd instill a little normalcy with an outfit post that didn't involve partying or any form of alcohol (Yeckkk, liver's still on strike!). All accessories for this one are compliments of my lovely roommate Kelly for my birthday. She works at Charlotte Russe and got me this bracelet set, necklace, flip flops, and some earrings, along with a creme colored shirt with a subtle gold sparkle to it! I love it all! Paired the accessories with my navy Old Navy dress I think you may have seen before.

(WHY ARE THESE MOLES RUINING OUR DIRT YARD!?)

Vegas Recap: Part Three

Ok, this is the end of the Vegas pictures bombardment. Next up will be Little Five. For that I think I'll just throw up the highlights in pictures. It's been quite the week. Let's just say I'm ready to get back into the not-so-wild normal life of mine for the last two weeks of the semester!!! My liver needs a break!!!

Saturday in Vegas was spent lying around the pool recovering from the effects of PURE, and I actually got a little bit of color... so THAT's always nice!!! That night we went to dinner at this amazing Italian restaurant called Ferraro's... amazing amazing amazing. Then it was off to the RIO for the Voodoo lounge, with an amazing view of the strip.

Topped that off with a little gambling (MY FIRST SLOT MACHINE!), and an Irish bar with a real live leprechaun! Of course, I'm really smart that I saw this guy, and went running in to tell everyone that I had just seen 'AN IRISH MIDGET!' (Politically incorrect I know) Finally Steven goes, "Alex, I think most people just call those leprechauns." He and Shelley actually paid to have their picture taken with him... and what an angry little leprechaun he was!!! You'd think after paying him for a picture he could at least keep his middle finger to himself!

Then we TRIED to go see the last running of the Bellagio fountains.... and of course just barely missed it. Oh well, maybe next time. So we ended up at Paris, went to a dualing piano bar, where some guy made me dance with him because his girlfriend's dress kept falling down (Seriously, apparently her boobs fell out like three times before we got there) and so she decided she should probably take a break from dancing.

Saturday we didn't fly out until 3, so we wandered down to the Wynn for the Ferrari museum (HEAVEEENNNNN), and I ACTUALLY GOT TO SIT IN ONE! Ended up with this little gem as a souvenir. Real car, fake background, obviously. One of my dad's friends asked if this picture was real, to which he responded "Yeah right, as if any cop could catch up to a Hoover in a Ferrari." True!!

Vegas Recap: Part Two

So, now we're on to Friday night. I'm hoping that by breaking this up I can keep these recaps not TOO overwhelmingly large.

After we went back to the room to get ready/nap (In Steven's case... two naps), we met back up with Joe and Brian at The Hard Rock. Dinner was at NOBU... and let me tell you, absolutely delicious. A little more on that at Wonderland Kitchen. Here are outfit pictures for the night. Steve Madden Merriees got some play time in, but these shoes are NOT made for walking. My ankle is still scabbed from the skin they rubbed off.

After dinner we wandered around the Hard Rock for a bit, while Joe and Brian still refused to tell us what they had planned for the night. Whatever it was, it was at Caesar's, so we headed over there, where the most epic statue molestation photo shoot ever took place. Yes, my father almost got us asked to leave for CLIMBING ON CAESAR by a security guard who came running over... "SIR! SIR! YOU HAVE TO GET DOWN! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Oops! From here on out we basically took obscene pictures with any statue we could find. I'll have some more of those later once I get them from Shelley.

Then the Shadow Lounge, and let me tell you... strippers behind shades are way better than those just out in the open! It was actually pretty cool. Lots of pictures taken there too.

And then, FINALLY, the secret was revealed- VIP at PURE night club! We got to walk right in past a line of girls dressed like hookers waiting to get in (There's a difference between dressing up and looking like a stripper, ladies). Then we were taken to a booth on the roof of Caesar's, where we had our own little escort "T" who told us if anyone was pissing us off, to let him know and he'd take care of it. He also got all serious and said, "OK, here are the rules..." and as we get ready to brace ourselves for a lecture, out comes "It's fine if you want to dance on the couches, just please take your heels off first." I'm ALL for that. Shoes off? Couch dancing? DON'T MIND IF I DO.

Now, cue the endless (and frequent) redbull and vodka's. Ouch. Note the picture where I've got two in my hand at once? No wonder I had such a GREAT hangover the next day. We'll let the pictures take it from here. See ya soon for Part Three!

Hope you're enjoying these pictures... my liver worked really hard to make them happen. ;-)
