Last day of Color Week: Rainbow!

Ok, so I'm actually like... 3 days late on this one. This weekend was full of a lot of family time, friends, sleeping, and running around trying to get all sorts of things done. Right now I'm getting ready to head back to Bloomington just for the night to repack and head out to Chicago tomorrow morning for a few days with my friend Ashlee. Hopefully that will include the aquarium, the art museum, possibly this Arab festival that Ashlee really wants to go to, and maybe some good actual outfit shots.

So without further adieu, here are the (very late) "Rainbow" pictures to cap off color week!

(High school yearbook)

(Early Father's Day Dinner- it was kind of "rainbow". My dad is the best cook EVER!)

(Favorite coffee mug EVER!)

Ok, I cheated on the last one... that picture was actually from I think tuesday night when there was a huge storm... but how do you NOT put a picture of a full double rainbow up on Rainbow day of color week!??

Thanks to CAT at No Wooden Spoons for doing Color Week- it was a lot of fun!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I've been trying to slowly catch up on everyone's posts from the last couple of days, and will probably be doing more of that tonight in addition to setting up a post or two to go up while I'm in Chicago.

Color Week: Purple!

This is going to be short and sweet because I am SO tired right now, and definitely on the verge of passing out! It's one of those days where I am legitimately about to fall asleep, and I don't think I even did anything worthy of this level of exhaustion today! I did get to meet a friend's baby for the first time though, which was fun, because I LOVE BABIES!

Tomorrow is the last day of color week with Rainbow/multi colored! I'll try to get the post up tomorrow, but it's going to be a busy day so I can't make any promises just yet. I will definitely be toting my camera around all day, though!

Today's Purple photos:

Swimsuit: Old Navy / Sunglasses: Delias

Sundress: Old Navy

(The "Faceless Ballerina". I painted this FOREVER ago and just never got around to doing her face because I was so worried I'd mess it up.)

I did just made some peanut butter pie for my Dad's Birthday/Father's Day dinner tomorrow night, so you can also be expecting a recipe post on that in the near future!

Color Week Day Four: Blue!

Another sunny day in Bloomington!! I really hope this weather keeps up, because it has been WONDERFUL. Unfortunately I forgot to put my memory card in my camera before I headed to the pool, so there is no picture of that. :-( I did however, get a picture of my blue polka dotted coverup, and manage to put together some kind of an outfit for this post! I always love any excuse to bring out the Alice in Wonderland bow!

You got a reaction,
You got a reaction didn't you?

You took a white orchid and turned it blue.

Now I'm off to fold laundry and pack (two of my least favorite things!!!!) to head home for the weekend. I hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be back tomorrow with a Purple post, and I was also tagged in another "Questions" post, so I will hopefully have that up on Sunday.

My goal this weekend is to try to really get out some articles of clothing that I have and haven't worn for a while, so I'm hoping that once color week is over I can come back with some decent outfit posts. :-)

Color Week Day Three: Green!

The sun finally made an appearance today, so I took advantage of it and got myself out to the pool with my friend Nathan. It was suprisingly not even too hot! It was also the last day of the Beatles class, which makes me glad that it's almost REALLY summer, but also really sad because it has truly been the most fun class I've ever taken. Our final is tomorrow, and then I am done for the summer!

Today's Green photos:

Coverup: Victoria's Secret

"The best things in life are free, but you keep them for the birds and bees, now give me money... that's what I want!"

(Actually Olive Oil, in an Oliver bottle)

I also just made it to 50 followers... so thanks to all of you who have been around for a while and to the new ones! It's still so weird to me that only a few months ago it was pretty much just me, Kelly, and Nickie who had really ever even seen it!!!

Color Week Day Two: Orange, Yellow, and the White Album

Ok, so the Beatles' White Album has nothing to do with Color Week. However, we have been discussing it the last few days of class, and for those of you who don't know, it is a double album meaning that when it was released it was on two records, four sides, with a total of 30 songs.

Their producer, George Martin, encouraged them to try to narrow it down for a single record, but they weren't having that as they had just written a good many songs while in India. Of course there was also the John vs. Paul battle for who got the most songs, and then Ringo and George struggling just to get a few of their songs on... so no one really wanted their songs dropped.

Anyways... my professor talked about how he used to have his students in the Beatles class make their 'ideal White Album', and pick 12-14 songs that THEY would have chosen for the White Album out of those that really made the cut. This wasn't an assignment, but I decided to make my own White Album list anyways, and it ended up on an ORANGE post it, which brings it to you today, since it is ORANGE (and yellow) day of the Color Week Challenge!

So, I present to you my ideal White Album:

Back in the U.S.S.R.
Dear Prudence
Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
Sexy Sadie
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
Happiness is a Warm Gun
Julia
Blackbird
Rocky Raccoon
Don't Pass Me By
I'm So Tired
Helter Skelter
Why Don't We Do It In the Road?

*I must admit, I'm a sucker for some of the weird stuff (Bungalow Bill), and definitely a sucker for all of Ringo's silly little songs! (Don't Pass Me By) There are definitely others I like, but just not as much as these.

I encourage any other Beatles fans out there to do the same! It's really kind of fun! What would make your list?

And now, for today's Orange and Yellow photos:

(Tonight's stormy sky was really working with me!)

Tomorrow: Green!

Color Week Day ONE: Reds & Pinks!

I've decided that with every color this week (The Color Week Challenge), I'm going to try to incorporate it into my outfit. This of course requires me to actually put the effort into coming up with outfits worthy of posting pictures of, so I guess it will be a secondary challenge of sorts.

Today's Color: Red! (And Pink)

Much to my dismay, I don't have all that much red in my wardrobe, so today red was an accessorizing color! It was unbearably hot and sauna like today... so the ultimate goal in getting dressed, other than incorporating red, was really just to keep it lightweight and airy!!

Outfit
High Waisted Skirt: Old Navy
Red Tank: The Buckle
Floral Tank: American Eagle
Headband: American Eagle
Necklace: Italy
Flip Flops: Old Navy
Purse: Target

And now for the Color Week photos:

Red seems to be a bit hard to come by in the summer, particularly with my wardrobe, so I'm hoping that these will just keep getting better all week!
