Channeling My Inner Elementary School Teacher.

I did end up convincing my cousin to dress up for our Easter dinner, and the outfit I ended up wearing made me feel like an elementary school teacher. I can't remember where this dress is even from, I bought it senior year of high school for my graduation open house. I love the material, it's sooo smooth, and falls perfectly without being too clingy.

I just bought the pink cardigan from Old Navy, and actually got a more "conservative leopard print" pattern too. I say that because it's just neutral, with no black, so it's not too intense (Picture Below). The sandals are also from Old Navy. They were on sale for like $10. I needed a pair of neutral slip on sandals that weren't just straight up flip flops, so I was pleased with that little find!

(Me and Megan, my cousin who just moved here. Wish I had her here every day to do my outfit pictures!!! They always turn out so much better with an actual human taking them.)

Dinner was delicious- I broiled steaks, made one of my millions of versions of mashed potatoes, and my mom's homemade seasoned green beans recipe. I think I may do a recipe post on those soon over at Wonderland Kitchen.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Hoppy Easter!

This year doesn't seem very "Easter-Like". I guess because I'm not at home and getting dressed up for the usual Hoover family Easter Brunch. I'm not even getting my Easter Basket until next weekend when I go home. (Yes, my mom is adorable and still makes us Easter Baskets full of candy, little things, and usually a DVD or something. Hope this lasts well beyond when I have kids myself.)

I think my cousin and I are going to make some sort of Easter Dinner tonight, so I'll have to make her dress up with me to make it feel more like the official holiday. Don't holidays always feel more legitimate when you dress up for them?

Since nothing else exciting happened... I thought I'd leave you with some pictures from our Easter celebration freshman year in the dorms. Shots out of plastic Easter Eggs? Yes, yes we did do that. I mean... Jesus DID turn water into wine... we think he would approve.

(Damn, I'm going to miss college.)

(Claire and I with Eggs and Chickie- our "Build-A-Chicks". Well, and Pengy. He's always sneaking into pictures.)

I hope those of you who are "of the Christian/Catholic persuasion" had a wonderful Easter Weekend. And for those of you who aren't, well, hopefully you got a day off work for Good Friday or something like that!!!

Easter and Tie-dye Fever

I've made up my mind that I am GOING to dye Easter Eggs on sunday. I love love love it! So now I just need to go pick out a kit. I think one year we tie-dyed eggs, and I've been really in the mood for that lately. I think we'll also probably tie-dye shirts soon... because there is nothing I love more than a soft tie-dye t-shirt to sleep in!

I am also contemplating some sort of give-away... because I'm almost to 20 followers, which is crazy considering that when I started this blog it was really only my Dad following it. (And it has evolved SO much since then!!!) I suppose my main hang up is that I'm not quite sure what I want to give! I've got a few ideas though, so check back soon.

Hopefully my camera gets here today (or might alright be at our apartment offices?) and I can finish up the last post or two from Spring Break. I hate being so far behind!
